Lincoln Park is a welcoming Chicago Neighborhood with historic charm, as well as 1,208 acres of sculpted parkland to enjoy. It’s known for Lincoln Park Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in North America, and one of few free admission zoos in the United States. Lincoln Park Conservatory is right next door along with North Pond, the neighborhood’s urban nature sanctuary, and the Nature Museum. Golfing is close by at the lakeside Diversey Driving Range and residents have several different beaches to choose from.
Transportation is a breeze in Lincoln Park. There are several Red Line “L” stops, the Metra, and efficient bus routes connecting to other neighborhoods, downtown, the suburbs, and most importantly, Midway and O’Hare airports. And, it’ll take you less than an hour to Michigan Avenue from most parts of the neighborhood.
Lincoln Park is loaded with culture. There’s award-winning theatre at Steppenwolf, the Apollo, Victory Gardens, Royal George, and in the summer, Theatre on the Lake. Kingston Mines and Blues Bar are historic spots to take in some live music. The Chicago History Museum is a great place to learn more about the city’s history. And for more than half the year, check out Green City Farmers Market to stock up on locally-farmed produce.
There’s no shortage of dining options in Lincoln Park with Geja’s Cafe for romantic fondue, Sapori Trattoria or Balena for Italian, Mon Ami Gabi for French, Chengdu Impression for Chinese, Athenian Room for Greek (don’t forget to check out the greek fries!), Del Seoul for Korean fusion, Willow Room or Boka for American and the award-winning Pequod’s Pizza for what many consider to be Chicago’s best (and, that’s saying something!).
